How to burn a candle
January 16, 2011The first burn of the candle makes a difference in how it burns each time. For every inch in diameter of your candle, burn the candle the first time for that many hours. Example: for a 3 inch candle, burn the first time for 3 hours. This makes a nice “well” in the candle which helps the candle to burn fully.
Always trim the wick to 1/4 inch to keep candle from smoking and to keep flame steady for even burning. Keep candle out of drafts as well.
A good advent calendar idea!
December 1, 2010A customer today told me that she does an advent calendar for her grandson and if the present for the day is too big to fit in the calendar, she makes a little note on where he has to look for it. A good solution and he loves the search! I’m going to pull out my advent calendar and use it this year now that I don’t have to worry about finding small enough items to fit! Good thinking.
