We are excited to showcase local author Seth Sjostrom‘s new book “Blood in the Snow”at our June First Friday! Seth is a graduate from the University of North Carolina system and lives in Camas. Having lived in the Pacific Northwest for nearly two decades, you can often find him on a hiking trail or in search of whitewater— when he isn’t coaching his son’s sports teams or chasing waves in Hawaii.

Here’s a synopsis of his new book:
Sean Kendall had succumbed to a peaceful existence in his new home nestled deep within the majestic wilderness of Washington’s North Cascades. Venturing on an early morning hike, his world of serenity comes crashing to a brutal halt as he follows a bloody trail of prints in the snow and stumbles onto a series of slain animals.
Enlisting the help of his friend, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Officer Adam Raines, they find themselves hot on the trail of a deadly poaching ring. As they close in, they are horrified to find that the poachers are merely the fringe of a far more sinister enemy – a radical group of extremists that call themselves the “Blue Army”. As Sean and Adam edge closer to the truth, they uncover an insidious plot to assault a Free-Trade Conference being held in Seattle. Further complicating his once peaceful world, Sean finds himself falling for Miranda Shaw, a vivacious, auburn-haired visitor to the Cascades. The budding romance swiftly becomes one of volatility as Sean begins to indict Miranda’s cousins as prime suspects in the Blue Army’s plans. Sean struggles against his feelings for Miranda, a government that won’t listen and a deadly race against the clock to stop the terrorists and save thousands of lives.
Come meet Seth on June 1st from 5-8pm and support local!
